In this story
An adults-only office scenario exploring fictional hierarchy, ritual and direction while keeping actual employment and financial power outside the scene.
What the scenario involves
Boss and assistant role-play uses an imagined workplace hierarchy between consenting adults. The characters might be a decisive executive and an organised assistant, or a newcomer guiding a surprisingly uncertain boss. It can be serious, humorous or simply a reason to dress differently.
The key distinction is that the authority is fictional. Neither participant’s actual job, income, housing or reputation should depend on compliance. These suggestions are for adults choosing a shared character exercise, not for a manager using workplace power to obtain intimacy.
Choose the dynamic before the costume
Talk about what is attractive: formal clothes, praise, efficiency, being given a clear task or temporarily being responsible for decisions. These interests can suggest very different scenes. Someone who enjoys an office aesthetic may have no interest in criticism or submission.
Define a small set of pretend responsibilities and the tone in which they can be discussed. Possible nonsexual tasks include organising fictional appointments, presenting a choice of music or arranging a tabletop. Keep the content invented and trivial rather than using actual business records, confidential material or real deadlines.
How a bounded scene works
One simple structure is an agreed briefing, a short task and a fictional review. The briefing sets out what the characters are doing; the task gives them something manageable to focus on; the review closes the invented workday. Agree when each phase ends and allow ordinary conversation whenever needed.
A variation reverses the expected hierarchy: the assistant is the competent organiser and the boss follows their advice. Alternatively, use warm recognition instead of stern direction. Changing the tone can reveal whether the appeal is really control, reassurance, clothing or collaborative performance.
Why people may enjoy this kind of fantasy
Familiar social roles make a scenario easy to recognise without extensive world-building. Formality can make small choices feel deliberate, while a limited hierarchy can provide a change from everyday responsibilities. Some enjoy giving clear direction; others enjoy a task with a beginning and an end.
A fantasy about authority does not establish a desire for workplace mistreatment. Likewise, choosing to follow directions during a scene does not mean someone is passive in ordinary life. There is no reliable scenario-specific popularity ranking used in this guide; the appeal described here is a range of possibilities.
Where consent can become complicated
Avoid using a real reporting relationship as the basis of the activity. Someone who depends on another person’s reference, shifts or promotion may find refusal difficult even when no threat is spoken. Move the fantasy away from actual organisational power, rather than assuming an adult label eliminates that problem.
Discuss language about competence, failure and performance particularly carefully. A mock review can touch genuine worries. Do not bring real mistakes, salaries or insecurities into character without agreement, and do not use the scene to settle an actual argument. A written fictional rule is never permission to ignore withdrawal.
Practical privacy and a clear finish
Use a private, permitted setting, personal devices and harmless props. Keep real offices, colleagues, work email accounts and employer-owned equipment outside the scene. Do not create authentic-looking disciplinary notices or impersonate a real business. Agree before recording anything, and keep any photographs away from professional profiles unless everyone explicitly wants that disclosure.
End by retiring the job titles and checking how the interaction felt. The person playing the boss can also feel pressure to perform. A useful review asks whether direction was welcome, whether the task felt enjoyable and whether both people could disagree comfortably. Real equality should be obvious when the imaginary workday ends.
